CERTIFICATIONS

All of our products are produced under controlled conditions, following procedures certified with ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and GLOBALG.A.P. at all stages of production, from fry until the final product.

ISO 22000:2005

ISO 22000 is an international safety management system for food which has replaced the Greek standard ELOT 1416. Its aim is to ensure food safety, namely the achievement of safe food products for the consumer. The system can be applied to businesses of all sizes and types of food.

ISO 9001:2008
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized standard for quality assurance and quality business management. It applies on the processes that produce products and the services offered by an organization. It provides a method and systematic review of operational activities to ensure the satisfaction of needs and customer requirements. It is designed in such a way as that it can be applied to the production of any product or service, anywhere in the world.

ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard for environmental management. It provides instructions and required control points that must be applied to those activities that affect the environment. Such activities are those such as the use of natural resources (water, etc.), handling and disposal of waste and energy consumption. Like all international standards it is designed in such way as to apply to any business environment anywhere in the world.

GLOBALG.A.P. Standard

It reassures consumers about how food is produced on the farm by minimising detrimental environmental impacts of farming operations, reducing the use of chemical inputs and ensuring a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare.

 

Friend of the Sea

Reassures consumers that aquaculture farms produce with no use of growth hormones, respecting waters parameters and critical habitats.

Friend of the Sea Sustainable Aquaculture Criteria requires:

- No impact on critical habitat (e.g.: mangroves, wetlands, etc)

- Compliance with waste water parameters

- Reduction of escapes and by-catches to a negligible level

- Compliance with Social Accountability

- Gradual reduction of carbon footprint

- No use of harmful anti-foulants

- No use of growth hormones

 

ASC PANEL

ANDROMEDA GROUP is committed to implement and certify our production of Meagre in Spain under the international standard more demanding in terms of sustainability such as ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council).

This commitment involves our determination to develop responsible, sustainable and transparent aquaculture and to assume the following challenges:

- To actively contribute to the transformation of the market towards a sustainable economy

- To promote environmental best practices aimed at the conservation of biodiversity and marine ecosystems

- To develop a social responsibility policy that enhances the ethical behavior, integration, and collaboration of our workers and the local community

- To establish lines of communication with society, favoring the transparency and information about our activity.

AWARDS

The primary objective of the Andromeda Group is to produce and supply products of the highest quality.

Proof of those efforts is our awarding for Superior Taste and Quality in 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 by the International Taste Institute ITI (ex iTQi).

 

 

PR1MUS

PR1MUS Sea Bass was awarded “Three Stars”, the highest award of the competition.

PR1MUS Sea Bream was awarded “Two Stars”, a great distinction of the competition. 

PR1MUS Red Porgy was awarded “Two Stars”, a great distinction of the competition also. 

 PR1MUS Meagre was awarded “Three Stars”, the highest award of the competition.

 

The International Taste Institute ITI (ex iTQi) is located in Brussels.

The "Superior Taste Award» constitutes the only seal of quality and taste that is awarded after an assessment by the “blind” tasting with a focus on the intensity of gustatory pleasures (first impression, appearance, aroma, taste, and texture) from Leader Chefs.

All Chefs are members of leading European Professional Gastronomy organizations and are Michelin stars awarded.

It is worth mentioning that PR1MUS Sea Bream, Sea Bass, and Red Porgy have been awarded since 2015 by ITQI and Meagre since 2010 for Great Taste and Quality.
